Programs

Programs are held on Fridays most months from September through June at Triton College Fine Art Gallery, Fine Arts Building Bldg. J, (next to the Cernan Space Center), 2000 Fifth Avenue, River Grove, Illinois. (Driving directions.)

Note that some programs and special events are held at other locations. See details below.

Light refreshments served at 7:30 p.m. Program starts at 8 p.m.

Programs and Events for 2009/2010:

September 18: Election of officers and Karen Snow

Make and take our own original hand-dyed silk scarf. The cost for WSAG members is $5 for the first scarf. The cost is $8 for each additional scarf or for guests. The cost includes the scarf as well as the non-toxic dye. Bring a friend!

September 26, Special Event:

9-11 a.m. Hanging for the WSAG Members' show. More information to follow.

October 16: Annual Members' Show

Members' show reception and awards (7-9:30 p.m.). Theme is "Into the Light." View the award winners from last year's show. View This years Show

November 7: SOFA Chicago 2009 special event

Bus trip to SOFA Chicago 2009. Cost for WSAG members is $15; guests cost $25. Costs include round-trip bus from Triton, ticket to the show, and breakfast snack.

December 6: Christmas party

January: No program

February 19: Cherie Salerno, sumi brush painting

Make and take your own oriental sumi brush painting, matted for framing. $5/WSAG members/$8 guests.

March 19: High School Scholarship program and Mona Parry

Make and take a table runner using traditional floorcloth painting techniques. $5/WSAG members/$9 guests. Note that this program will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m.

April 16: Election of officers and exhibit reception at Ken's Framing Shop

Ken will provide hang WSAG members' pieces for exhibit and sale for about one month. You must get your work to him before April 16th so that it is hung for the opening reception.

May 15-16, Special Event: Art in the Park

Plan to attend, exhibit, and help at our first 2-day show. Fees: $5 jury, 100 booth or exhibit in the WSAG booth (free if you handle your own sales or 20% commission if WSAG handles sales for you). More details to follow.

June 4, Chinese Garden Party: Annual end of the year catered party.
